TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Transylvania University will complete a three-game series with Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader at Art Nehf Field.

Rose-Hulman stands 10-9 overall and 5-4 in HCAC play, while Transylvania stands 7-13 and 4-6 in conference games.  The Fightin' Engineers are on the road for the final four conference weekends of the season, making this the team's Senior Weekend.

Rose-Hulman will honor five seniors for their efforts over the past four years this weekend.  This year's class has won 81 games over the last four years with one regular season conference title, one conference tournament championship, and one trip to the NCAA Division III Regional Championship Game.

Seniors include pitcher R.J. Carroll; pitcher Cole Hardman; outfielder Josh Hoeing; pitcher/catcher John Krasich; and pitcher Ben Menich.  The five players have appeared in over 200 combined games over the last four years and will be honored prior to Saturday's opening game.

On the field, the Fightin' Engineers entered the weekend in a four-way tie for second place behind 7-1 Bluffton University.  Rose-Hulman has claimed 2-of-3 series wins over Defiance and Manchester, and split two games with Franklin.  Sophomore Kevin Jendra leads the team in batting average (.433) with four doubles.  Junior Caleb Kissel stands .400 with six extra base hits, and junior Patrick Klima has a .382 average with five extra-base hits.

The Saturday projected starting pitchers are Karson Nixon (1-1, 1.14) and Carroll (3-1, 3.10).  Transylvania stands 7-13 overall and 4-6 in conference play.  Hunter Jones entered the weekend leading the Pioneers at .371 overall with 26 hits, four doubles and two home runs.  Trey Simpson has a .368 average with four triples and three doubles.

Potential Saturday pitchers for Transylvania include Adam Boone (2-1, 3.90), Tom Banahan (0-2, 5.09), Jamie King (1-5, 6.43) and Trey Simpson (1-2, 9.00).

After Saturday's games, the Fightin' Engineers hit the road for Anderson University on Tuesday.
