ANDERSON, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Anderson University square off in the winner's bracket game of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball tournament on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Rose-Hulman and Anderson advanced to the winner's bracket game through two different paths. The Fightin' Engineers earned a dramatic 16-15 victory over Manchester on Thursday that featured a rally from an eight-run deficit to win. Anderson relied on early offense and a pitching shutout to defeat Earlham 10-0 in game two of the tournament.
Rose-Hulman stands 26-14 on the season and entered the HCAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Anderson has an overall mark of 29-11 and is regionally ranked by the NCAA Division III Baseball Committee.
The winner of Friday's matchup between Rose-Hulman and Anderson advances to the championship round and would have to lose twice on Saturday to not advance to the NCAA Tournament. The loser returns to action at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday against the winner of the elimination game between Manchester and Earlham.
