TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Due to projected Sunday snow in Illinois, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Augustana College baseball series will now be played as a Saturday doubleheader (March 10) starting at noon CT.
The pair of nine-inning games will be played at Swanson Stadium and Brunner Field in Moline, Illinois, on Saturday. Game one will be at noon CT, with game two to follow starting approximately 3 pm CT.
A young Rose-Hulman squad stands 2-6 on the early season. RHIT played in Florida and Georgia last week as a part of their annual spring trip and the Fightin' Engineers notched wins over Alma 6-5, and Oglethorpe 4-0.
Freshman pitcher Trever Bruno pitched a two-hit shutout in the win over Oglethorpe. Fellow freshman Logan Cody has gotten off to a hot start this season hitting .483 with 14 hits, one double, one triple and six RBI. Freshman third baseman Luke Calabrese leads the team with 10 RBI.
Augustana stands 6-2 on the season. The Vikings defeated Capital, Grove City, and Alma down in Florida last week.
