Rose-Hulman Baseball Travels to Bluffton on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for a key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Bluffton University on Saturday starting at noon.

ROSE-HULMAN (13-21, 6-7 HCAC) NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman is batting .281 as a team with 52 doubles in 32 games.  Logan Cody leads the offense with a .356 average (4 2B, 1 3B)
* The team has eight players with significant time batting over .300.  Conner Helbling (.342, 6 2B, 1 HR); Conner Shipley (.320, 2 2B); Zach Witonsky (.316, 1 2B); and David Burnside (.314, 6 2B, 1 3B) round out the team's top five.
* On the mound, Rose-Hulman has a 4.51 ERA with 189 strikeouts in 289.2 innings of work.
* Luke Buehler tossed his first career shutout last Saturday in an 8-0 win over Defiance.  Buehler scattered seven singles and allowed just one walk with five strikeouts in the complete game victory.
* Starters of five or more games this season have included Buehler (3-4, 1.60 ERA); Clayton Mayfield (3-3, 3.16); Trever Bruno (2-4, 3.83); and Chuck Alexa (2-2, 5.40).
* Dan Connolly has led the bullpen with a 2.41 ERA in 14 appearances, highlighted by 20 strikeouts in 18.2 innings of work.

BLUFFTON (18-14, 7-7 HCAC) NEWS & NOTES:
* Bluffton has an 18-14 record this season with 53 doubles, nine triples, nine home runs and a .275 team batting average.
* Colin Gregory is the team's top hitter at .355 with 11 doubles, there triples and two home runs.  Ryan Golden has added a team-high five home runs.
* The Bluffton pitching staff has 167 strikeouts in 269.1 innings of work and a 5.01 ERA.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads Bluffton 28-5 overall and has won the last 12 meetings in the series.
