TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opens the 2019 season on Monday at 10:30 a.m., with a matchup against Alma College at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida.

- Rose-Hulman opens the 2019 baseball season with its annual trip to Florida starting Monday. The Fightin' Engineers will play five games in five days to open the season.
- Rose-Hulman was picked to finish third in the HCAC this season, in the preseason coaches poll.
- The Fightin' Engineers return eight of their nine starters, the top three starting pitchers and several pitchers from the 2018 team that finished 20-23 and qualified for the HCAC Tournament.
- Key returnees include first-team all-HCAC and ABCA all-region pitcher Luke Buehler (4-4, 1.53 ERA, 62 strikeouts) and second-team all-HCAC outfielder David Burnside (.303, 9 2B, 21 RBIs). Conner Helbling also earned honorable mention all-HCAC honors after hitting .318 with six doubles and one home run.
- Offensively, returning starters also include Conner Shipley (.337, 5 2B); Luke Calabrese (.336, 7 2B, 1 HR); Sean Casey (.323, 5 2B, 2 HR); Logan Cody (.314, 4 2B, 1 3B); Davis Robeson (.305, 9 2B, 4 3B); and Ryan Stachowski (.288, 10 2B, 2 HR).
- Other pitchers with more than 15 innings of work last season included Clayton Mayfield (4-3, 3.71, 51 strikeouts); Trever Bruno (2-4, 3.83 ERA); Dan Connolly (0-1, 4.24 ERA); Trevor Dallio (1-4, 5.87); Stone Brogan (1-1, 4.50); and Ben Yoss (1-1, 7.63).
- After Monday's game, Rose-Hulman will face St. Mary's (Minn.) on Tuesday.
