Rose-Hulman Baseball Hosts Hanover in Wednesday 4 PM Twinbill

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns home on Wednesday to face Hanover College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at 4 pm.
 
SCHEDULE NOTES:
Wednesday May 1 - DH vs. Hanover as scheduled
Saturday May 4 - DH with Anderson has been moved to Rose-Hulman. Anderson will be home on the scoreboard.  The first game begins at 1 pm.
Sunday May 5 - Non-conference doubleheader has been cancelled due to conference scheduling needs from MSJ.

Rose-Hulman (22-9, 11-1 HCAC) News & Notes:
  • Rose-Hulman stands 22-9 overall and leads the HCAC at 11-1 in conference play.  The Fightin' Engineers host Greenville on Tuesday night and Hanover on Wednesday in a doubleheader.
  • Luke Buehler is a three-time HCAC Pitcher of the Week and one-time D3baseball.com National Team of the Week honoree in 2019.  Buehler is currently 7-0 with a 0.87 earned run average, including 49 strikeouts in 52 innings of work.
  • The team's four primary starting pitchers have also included Trevor Dallio (1-2, 3.82 ERA, 32 K, 30.2 IP), Trever Bruno (1-2, 4.20, 12 K, 30 IP) and Clayton Mayfield (4-1, 5.17, 34 K, 47.0 IP)
  • Rose-Hulman's bullpen features six pitchers with at least one save, led by freshman Brian Pershing with five saves and freshman Adam Taylor with two.
  • Brian Pershing and Zach Witonsky have made the most of their playing time with batting averages of .459 and .450, respectively, this season.  Shaine Mitchell is also hitting .391 and appeared in 24 games in the outfield.
  • Starters hitting above .300 include Davis Robeson (.357, 6 2B); Harris Camp (.342, 3 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR); Conner Helbling (.337, 6 2B, 1 HR); Conner Shipley (.321, 5 2B); David Burnside (.321, 9 2B, 2 HR); Luke Kluemper (.317, 1 2B); Ryan Stachowski (.315, 9 2B, 2 3B); and Luke Calabrese (.311, 3 2B, 1 3B).
  • Rose-Hulman has won four HCAC Tournament titles, two regular season HCAC championships and made two appearances in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship Round since 2009. 

Hanover (13-17, 5-9 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Hanover stands 13-17 overall and 5-9 in HCAC play entering Wednesday's doubleheader.
  • After Wednesday's games, Hanover travels to Thomas More on Friday and Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.
