TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Sara Parker has been named Assistant Volleyball Coach and Assistant to the Athletic Director at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, effective immediately.

Rose-Hulman was a recipient of one of the NCAA Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grants. The grant is designed to provide financial assistance to the Division II and III member schools and conferences that are committed to enhancing ethnic minorities and gender representation in entry-level athletics administrative positions.

Parker takes over a full-time position after working as a graduate assistant coach for the volleyball program over the last two years. The Fightin' Engineers had their first winning season since 2018 last season, and they improved from 2-7 in 2020 to 14-12 in 2022 with Parker as an assistant coach.

"I am thrilled that Coach Parker has accepted this position and will be continuing her time here with us. Coach Parker has done a tremendous job for us the last two seasons, and I cannot wait to continue our work together," said Rachel Delsi, the Head Coach of the Fightin' Engineers.

Prior to Rose-Hulman, Parker was an assistant coach at Alma College and helped lead the Scots to a 17-13 record and a 3rd-place finish in the MIAA. She has also recently served as an assistant coach at Thomas Valley High School (Colo.) and has worked as a Club coach in Colorado, Michigan, and South Dakota.

Parker was a member of the volleyball team at Presentation College (S.D.) from 2014-18. She was part of the winningest team in program history and played primarily at the defensive specialist/libero position. She was a winner of the team Spirit of the Saint Award; Champions of Character Award; and was a four-time NSAA academic scholar-athlete.

Parker earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching at Presentation in 2019. She graduated in May of 2023 with her Master's degree in physical education exercise science from Indiana State University.
