TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of women's track & field. Jocelyn Onstot received HCAC Distance Athlete of the Week, while Rose Talbert was named the HCAC Sprint Athlete of the Week for their performances this past weekend.

Onstot had an incredible record-breaking weekend. The junior electrical and mechanical engineering major started her week at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invite, earning a third-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:34.89. Her time breaks the 13-year-old school record set by Rose-Hulman Hall of Famer, Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery.

The Cary, Illinois native then went on to break another school record at the Indiana DIII Championships with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.52. This breaks a 16-year-old school record in the event set by another Rose Hall of Famer, Creasy Clauser.

Both of her times lead the conference this season. Her 800 time is fifth in the region, while her 1,500 time is third in the region and 26th in all of NCAA DIII.

Talbert had an exceptional performance at the Indiana DIII Championships. The junior chemical and mechanical engineering major earned two event wins in the 400-meter dash (55.47) and the 200-meter dash (25.27).

The Monticello, Illinois native was also a member of the third-place finishing 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Emma Johns, Iliana Hernandez, and Alex Adams, that broke the school record in the event with a time of 48.64.

Her time in the 400 leads the conference this season, ranks second in the region, and seventh in all of NCAA DIII. Her 200 time ranks second in the conference and ninth in the region. The relay team's time leads the conference and ranks 12th in the region.

This is the eighth HCAC Athlete of the Week award for Onstot and the 14th award for Talbert in their college careers with the Fightin' Engineers.

The women's track & field team will return to action this weekend at the Indiana Little State Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan and the Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State.
